Alan Beard is a Managing Director of Interlink Capital
Strategies, a Washington-based consulting firm that develops and
finances overseas transactions and projects.
Prior to joining ICS, Mr. Beard was the Chief Operating
Officer and Director of Delphos International, another
Washington, DC-based consulting firm that specializes in
arranging financing for overseas projects using U.S.,
multilateral and foreign government programs. During his
employment the firm arranged over $9 billion in government
grants, equity, guarantees and loans for more than 700
companies. Previously, Mr. Beard established and headed up an
international merchant banking unit of Bank One Capital Corp.
and worked at the Export-Import Bank of the United States, where
he was a Senior Lending Officer in both the Latin American and
U.S. divisions. Prior to working at Eximbank, Mr. Beard was an
official with the Department of Commerce's International Trade
Administration.
Mr. Beard has been a frequent speaker, university lecturer
and published writer on international finance issues. Currently
he is an adjunct professor at Georgetown University. He has
edited and contributed to the writing of more than 25 books,
including most recently Inside The World’s Export Credit
Agencies and Inside The World’s Developmental Financial
Institutions. Mr. Beard graduated from the University of
Utah cum laude and received his MBA from the George Washington
University.
