The members of the delegation will describe a wide range of trade and investment opportunities for Louisiana companies in port projects under development in the Russian northwest region (Kaliningrad, Karelia, Murmansk, Vologoda, St. Petersburg, and Leningrad Oblast). The delegation is in the U.S. for four weeks of training organized by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s Special American Business Internship Training (SABIT) program. SABIT has successfully trained over 1,400 executives and scientists from the New Independent States (NIS).

The company’s main activity is project management, design and construction of a specialized export gas port terminal on the Gulf of Finland on the Baltic Sea.

Ministry of Transportation of the Russian Federation
The Division for Investments works with the Russian Federal Program for the Revival of the Russian Merchant Marine and organizes the construction and reconstruction of ports and harbors, attracts investments to the projects and deals with contracting with domestic and foreign contractors participating in the project.

Techmashincom, Ltd.
Techmashincom, Ltd. is a private investment company located in Murmansk. Their main activities are the construction of new port facilities in the Murmansk region.

Ust-Luga Company
Ust-Luga Company works with design and contract organizations for port construction projects. For these projects the company uses its own funding as well as federal funding allocated for port modernization.

Petrolesport
Petrolesport is a private port located in St. Petersburg. The main activities of the port are the storage, loading and unloading of timber, general cargo, reefer cargo and containers, the transportation and forwarding of cargo, customs clearance and surveyor services.

Ministry of Transportation of the Russian Federation
The Maritime Administration is part of the Russian Federal Government and is responsible for international agreements on sea transportation as well as overseeing that the laws and requirements of the Russian Federation and international agreements in the field of sea trade and navigation are observed.

Primorsky LPG Terminal
Primorsky LPG Terminal’s main activities are project management, design and construction of a specialized export gas port terminal on the Gulf of Finland on the Baltic Sea. The terminal will be used for the transshipment and transportation of liquefied gas and ammonia from railway transport to carrier vessels.

The main activity of the port is cargo handling and storage. The port of St. Petersburg handles one-quarter of the total volume of foreign trade cargoes among all ports of Russia.

The port’s main activities are the operation of freight and passenger lines, cargo storage, non-metallic cargo delivery, and ship repair.

In cooperation with freight forwarders, shipping agents and other companies, the Seaport of St. Petersburg is able to function as a full service port.

The White Sea and Onega Shipping Company provides transportation of export/import cargoes and handles more than 5 million tons of freight every year within Russia, the New Independent States (NIS) and other foreign trade routes.

LenmorNIIproekt is a design institute located in St. Petersburg which is involved in the design, survey and research of Russian marine transportation. The institute is involved in port development and construction projects in Russia.

North-Western Shipping Company’s main activities are cargo transportation in the Russian North Western basin, loading and unloading and transshipment of cargo on river ports, maintenance of river and sea vessels, and shipbuilding.

The port is the closest geographically to Western Europe and is able to handle eight million tons of cargo annually.

Barbaletta is a stevedoring company located in St. Petersburg processing ships with a cargo capacity of up to 10,000 tons.
