This seminar will provide a working knowledge of letters of credit (L/Cs), how they are used, and how to avoid problems, using samples and case studies. While the focus is on international export L/Cs, we will briefly address domestic standby L/Cs. Attendees will receive tips and tools for managing the L/C process successfully and a variety of reference material and contacts to help you in future transactions.

About Madeline Sprague

Madeline Sprague works closely with exporters and importers in the structuring and processing of international trade transactions. She has over 18 years of documentary product expertise and has conducted many seminars on letters of credit and other international payment mechanisms. Prior to joining Bank One in 1995, she managed international operations for both CoreStates’ and Bankers Trust’s Houston Edge Act branches. Ms. Sprague is a Certified Cash Manager, and has a Bachelor’s degree in languages and linguistics from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
