About Carroll Suggs

Carroll W. Suggs has served as Chairman of PHI since 1990 and as CEO since 1993. Early in her professional career, she worked for Gulf Oil Corp., Argo Oil Corp., and Petroleum Operations, Inc.

Mrs. Suggs was recently appointed to the National Petroleum Council by U.S. Secretary of Energy Bill Richardson. Among the boards she serves on are the World Trade Center of New Orleans, the Business Council, the State of Louisiana Committee of 100, the Business Council of Tulane University’s A.B. Freeman School of Business, Emery-Riddle Aeronautical University, University of Louisiana, Whitney Holding Corp., Clintondale Aviation and Siam Aerospace Technologies. She is a member of the Helicopter Association International, the Association of Air Medical Services, and the International Association of Women in Aviation.

Mrs. Suggs has received numerous awards and honors, including the Junior Achievement Business Hall of Fame Award and the Distinguished Public Service Award from the U.S. Coast Guard and Department of Transportation.

Mrs. Suggs was born in Atlanta. She is a graduate of Louise S. McGehee School in New Orleans, and attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge. She has three children.
