About Guangxi Province

Guangxi Province, with a population of 44 million and approximately the same size as Louisiana, is located in the southern part of China in a subtropical humid monsoon zone, making the land extremely viable for agricultural production. Agriculture already plays a dominant role in Guangxi's diversified economy. In recent years, the government's commitment to reform the economic system and rebuild the infrastructure by completing railway and highway systems to rural areas and by constructing deep water wharves has created many new opportunities for investment, joint ventures, and export-import sales in a wide range of agriculturally-oriented development projects.

Planned projects in production and processing for which Louisiana cooperation is sought include the following:

  • fruits
  • vegetables
  • fish and poultry breeding
  • spirits
  • mangos
  • thorn-pears
  • bamboo shoots
  • Chinese chestnuts
  • navel oranges
  • litchi
  • tropical fruit juices
  • pigs
  • pork
  • pearl cultivation

Registration Fee: $20 for members of the WTC and other co-sponsoring organizations and $25 for non-members.
