Internship Opportunity for International Business and
Management Students
Summer, semester, and yearlong internships are available at 1st
Stop to undergraduate and graduate-level students on a volunteer
basis. Internships are offered to students in all areas of study who
have an interest in learning about world cultures and developing
skills in international trade.
Responsibilities
1st Stop interns assist international companies, including
incoming trade delegations, in market research projects specific to
each company's business sector(s) of interest in Louisiana. Under
the direction of WTC staff, 1st Stop student interns are put in
direct contact with each of the companies to which they have been
assigned. In addition, interns are responsible for monitoring one or
more key Louisiana industry sectors in order to assist the WTC to
gain further knowledge about these sectors and thereby help the
international companies seeking new business in Louisiana. Student
interns also research and add information to 1st Stop databases on
Louisiana companies and trade associations in their assigned
sectors.
Benefits
1st Stop interns are eligible to attend at no charge a
four-session 18-hour export/import seminar conducted by the
Louisiana International Trade Center/SBDC, WTC international trade
programs, and industry trade shows and expos, as appropriate.

NEW ORLEANS CITIZEN DIPLOMACY COUNCIL
SEEKS INTERN
The New Orleans Citizen Diplomacy Council has an opening for an
un-paid intern. NOCDC is a non-profit organization that arranges
professional appointments and cultural activities for more than
350 international leaders sent to New Orleans each year through
the U.S. Department of State’s International Visitor Leadership
Program. NOCDC schedules business meetings, roundtable
discussions, and working tours with local professionals whose
interests intersect with those of the visitors. NOCDC interns
assist the staff with a number of tasks including: writing
proposals for prospective programs; planning the New Orleans
itinerary for the visitors; general office duties; and
occasionally accompanying the visitors on professional
appointments. Solid writing and computer skills are required.

Internship Opportunity: Small Business Development/Louisiana
International Trade Center
The Small Business Development/Louisiana International Trade
Center located in the World Trade Center is currently accepting
resumes for two unpaid student intern positions.
Interns will be required to work between 16 and 20 hours a week
and will assist in international market research and business
development. Interns will also have an opportunity to attend at no
charge, as part of the training, an 18-hour Export/Import Seminar
focusing on international market research, international banking and
finance, documentation and transportation, and international legal
matters.
